Arce ousted at Regionals in Rnd of 16

St. Bonaventure senior Mario Arce (pictured) advanced to the round of 16 today at the ITA Regionals.  Arce, seeded 6th in the event, defeated David Webb of Dartmouth 6-4, 7-5 in the morning.  In the afternoon, Arce saw his hopes for the Regional title fade as he dropped a heartbreaking 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision to Harvard's Martin Wetzel. It is the second straight year Arce has made the round of 16 at this tournament and lost to a player from Harvard. 

"I had many chances to win the match but he was also playing well. I am disappointed but he played pretty well." said Arce.

LOOKING AHEAD

This concludes the Bonnies fall season.  The Bonnies now will start their off-season strength and conditioning program and get ready for the spring season where the ultimate goal for the Bonnies will be regaining the Atlantic 10 crown.
